Health and well-being by Annabelle Padwick

The talk in November was by Annabelle Padwick on Growing for Health and Well-being.

Annabelle had a difficult time at school as she was bullied and then faced mental health issues as a teenager and young woman. Her salvation aged 27 came in the form of an overgrown allotment which she transformed into a productive space where she felt safe and happy.
She went on to study Social and Therapeutic Horticulture and Mental Health courses.
Based in Oxfordshire she now offers practical gardening courses for people going through difficulties and also children’s classes and school programmes for primary and secondary school pupils under the Wellbeing Programme. Her own experience has led Annabelle to open up a brighter future for so many adults and young people who have been helped to find their own safe space in a garden.
